Uttar Pradesh is set to receive another Vande Bharat Express, bringing good news for Gorakhpur residents. The much-anticipated high-speed train will soon connect Gorakhpur to Patna, making travel between the two cities faster and more convenient. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has officially announced the launch of this service. Here’s what we know about its route and expected launch timeline.

Route and Expected Launch Date

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, during the inauguration of the Cantonment Rail Over Bridge in Bettiah, Bihar, shared updates on the upcoming Vande Bharat Express between Patna and Gorakhpur. The train will follow a route passing through Patna, Chapra, Siwan, and Bettiah.

According to reports, the train could be operational within the next 3 to 4 months, with an expected launch by the end of 2025. There are also speculations that Muzaffarpur might be included in its route, though no official confirmation has been made yet.

How Passengers Will Benefit

The introduction of the Vande Bharat Express between Gorakhpur and Patna will bring significant benefits to passengers traveling between Uttar Pradesh and Bihar:

  • Enhanced Comfort: With modern facilities, the journey will be more comfortable.

Additionally, the Railway Minister announced new train services for Bihar, including the launch of three trains from Muzaffarpur— Namo Bharat, Vande Bharat, and Amrit Bharat. He assured that major transformations in Indian Railways will be seen in the next five years.

Existing Patna-Lucknow Vande Bharat Route

Currently, Vande Bharat Express operates between Lucknow (Gomtinagar) and Patna six days a week, except Friday. The train details are as follows:

  • Train Number 22346 departs from Patna at 6:05 AM and reaches Varanasi at 2:30 PM, stopping at Ara, Buxar, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Banaras, and Ayodhya.
  • On its return journey, the train leaves Gomtinagar at 3:20 PM and arrives in Patna at 11:45 PM.

With the upcoming Gorakhpur to Patna Vande Bharat, rail connectivity in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will witness further improvements, making intercity travel more efficient.
