Regarding this incident, the police said that Rakhi Rathore lodged a false complaint with the police after killing her husband Shatrughan Rathore. They said that on the night of December 30, some unknown attackers killed him (Shatrughan) at his home. When the police investigated on the basis of Rakhi's complaint, it was found that Rakhi had an illicit relationship with the main accused Dharmendra Rathore and when her husband came to know about this, they conspired to kill him.

He told that Rakhi's children and neighbors told the police about the involvement of Rakhi and Dharmendra. According to the police, the accused entered Shatrughan's house on the night of December 30 and strangled him to death. Police said in a statement that Rakhi, Dharmendra and Ankit were arrested and the court sent them to judicial custody.
