Mumbai win by 5 wickets, Chennai out of playoff

Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. Mumbai completed Chennai’s target of 98 runs for the win by 5 wickets in 31 balls. Mumbai scored 103 runs in 14.5 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. This was Mumbai’s third win of the season. At the same time, Chennai’s challenge ended in this season. Tilak Verma scored the highest unbeaten 34 for Mumbai. Captain Rohit Sharma contributed 18 runs. Hrithik Shokeen scored 18 runs. Team David scored 16 runs. For Chennai, Mukesh Chaudhary took 3 wickets. Simarjit Singh and Moeen Ali both took a wicket each.

Earlier, Mumbai won the toss and decided to bat first. Chennai Super Kings batsmen surrendered to Mumbai Indians bowlers. Mumbai bowlers bundled out Chennai for 97 runs in 16 overs.

 

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored the highest 36 runs for Chennai. Apart from Dhoni, no other batsman has been able to do anything special.

Daniel Sams took 3 wickets for Mumbai. Kumar Karthikeyan and Riley Meredith led with batsmen 2-2 off the field. Ramandeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah took a wicket each.
