IND vs ENG: Wriddhiman Saha’s huge pain, said – will not get a place in Team India again
The Indian cricket team is currently on a tour of England to play Test matches. Team India has been announced for this match. There is a player who did well in IPL-2022 and expected him to be picked for England tour but it didn’t happen. The player’s name is Wriddhiman Saha. Saha was part of the Gujarat Titans team that won the IPL and played a brilliant innings as an opener. Saha was expected to return to Team India on the basis of this performance, but when it did not happen, Saha felt pain.
Saha has said that he does not think that he will be able to play for Team India again. According to a media report, while talking to him, Saha said, “I do not think that I will ever be able to get selected in Team India going forward and the chief selector has told me about this. And if they had picked me, I would have been in the team for the England tour after my performance in the IPL. So this decision is clear to me and means I have no other choice at this time. I focus more on playing cricket. I’ll keep playing as long as I like the game.”
Performance was coming in IPL
Gujarat could not play Saha in the initial matches of IPL-2022. Saha was given a chance after Matthew Wade failed. He played 11 matches this season and scored 317 runs at an average of 31.70. At the same time, its strike rate is 122.39. Saha has scored three fifties in this season’s IPL. This is one of the main reasons for the success of Gujarat Titans. Gujarat bought it at the last minute in the mega auction of IPL and the innings of this team also started working.
There is news of Tripura joining the team.
Saha was also embroiled in controversies in the Bengal cricket team and hence did not play in the knockout rounds of the Ranji Trophy this season. He has severed ties with the Bengal cricket team. Now there are reports that he may join Tripura. Saha is in talks with Tripura for the role of player cum guide.
This information was given by an officer. The official told the news agency that he wanted to play the role of player-cum-mentor for Tripura. He is in talks with some members of the Apex Council in Tripura but nothing has been decided yet. First they have to get a no-objection letter from CAB and then from BCCI (Cricket Board of India), only then the process can proceed.
