Commonwealth Games 2022: After weightlifting, judo, table tennis, lawn bon, squash and badminton, India has now achieved success in athletics as well. India’s star athlete Tejaswin Shankar created history by winning a bronze medal in the men’s high jump at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. India had not won a single medal in the high jump event in the Commonwealth so far. Although Tejashwi Shankar has ended the wait of many years.

Good performance by Lovepreet Singh Lovepreet Singh
He did well in the men’s 109kg weightlifting category of the Commonwealth Games. He lifted 157 kg in his first attempt in the snatch. After this, he lifted 161 kg in the second attempt and 163 kg in the third attempt. Also lifted 185 kg in the first attempt in clean and jerk. After this, he lifted 189 kg in the second attempt and 192 kg in the third attempt.

 

Losing to Australia in the first match of the tournament Indian cricket team made a strong comeback. After Australia, India defeated Pakistan and Barbados to enter the semi-finals. A medal is expected from the Indian team playing Commonwealth Games for the first time.
