The actor participated in a prominent scandal at his Mumbai home earlier in 2023. An attacker assaulted Saif Ali Khan in his Mumbai household before the actor received medical treatment at Lilavati Hospital. Saif has fully recovered from his injuries and he currently performs promotional duties for his upcoming movie called Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins. The actor emerged for the first time since his assault to attend the Netflix announcement of new content at an event. Social media users can see many photographs and video clips showing Saif Ali Khan with a noticeable neck scar.

Jaideep Ahlawat appears as the lead actor in this heist drama directed by Robbie Grewal and Kookie Gulati. Through their company Marflix Pictures Siddharth Anand and his wife Mamta Anand jointly produce the upcoming project with Anand as its director.

The pleasure I feel standing before your audience today really fills me with joy. Being here at the event makes me feel quite pleasant. The upcoming movie brings great enthusiasm to me. Saif admitted to collaborating with Siddharth about this film over a long period and expressed his dream of making a heist film while stating his lucky fortune to have such an excellent co-star in the process. Then he reiterated his excitement about "a lovely movie" during the interview.

About the film

The film Jewel Thief features prominent actors Kunal Kapoor alongside Nikita Dutta in addition to Saif. Saif Ali Khan together with Siddharth reunited for this project after an absence of seventeen years. Before Jewel Thief the pair partnered for Salaam Namaste (2005) and Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007). Saif Ali Khan finished his work for the movie which Netflix will premiere without theater distribution.

The late audience learned that Saif Ali Khan received multiple injuries during his assault at his Bandra house in December. Doctors examined him at Lilavati Hospital followed by his subsequent release when he completed a rest period of several days.
