President Droupadi Murmu will visit the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Monday, where she will take a holy dip at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. The President’s office confirmed her visit in an official statement on Sunday. The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on Paush Purnima (January 13), is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, attracting millions of devotees from around the world. The event will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26.

President Murmu’s Itinerary for Mahakumbh Mela

President Murmu’s visit will span over eight hours, during which she will participate in several religious and cultural activities. Her schedule includes:

  • Taking a holy dip at the Sangam
  • Offering prayers (Pooja) and Darshan at Akshayvat and the Bade Hanuman Temple
  • Visiting the Digital Kumbh Anubhav Centre, a modern initiative blending technology with spirituality

She will be accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the visit.
