The Pakistan cricket team almost exited the tournament as they faced a 6 wicket loss against India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match on Sunday. Batting first, Pakistan was all out for 241 which was chased down by India with 244 runs in 42.3 overs. Pakistan lost the match as Virat Kohli made a century scoring 111 runs not out against Pakistan. Virat Kohli hit 7 fours while scoring runs at a strike rate of 90.09. He also received the 'Player of the Match' award for this innings.
Pakistani supporters went hard on their team
A fan from Pakistan went ahead to criticize her team after the crushing loss the Pakistan cricket team faces. While commenting on the last match between India and Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025,a female fan from Pakistan shared, ‘Like the rest of the country, we had great hopes from the team thinking that they will do well. But they could not even score a minimum of 315 which is required. Stopping Kohli from scoring his hundred should have been the minimum. If they could not bat, there was a match to save with bowling.’

Pakistan’s stay in Champions Trophycomes to an end
Mohammad Rizwan, captain of the Pakistan cricket team,accepts that following Pakistan’s loss to India, his squad’s chances in the Champions Trophy are completed. The loss by six wickets to India is Pakistan’s second loss in a row. Both India and New Zealand are favored to advance to the semis from group A. Pakistan has one remaining group game against Bangladesh.
Gave credit to Virat Kohli for winning the match.
As Mohammad Rizwan stated during the press conference, “We can say that the World Cup campaign is virtually over; it is all dependent on other’s results. If one match is left, then there is still hope. One match does not change everything. I do not relish these situations as a captain. I would rather prefer to be in control of the situation.” And, “head coach” allowed “I Am”, maybe “Rohit” but “India” especially Kohli who made his 51st century in ODI and Asia Cup was instrumental in winning India the match.
Zahid Mohammad Rizwan remarked, “Yes, I did say, and he did prove me right by scoring that century. And the whole world was saying that he is not in form, but he scored so comfortably in such a big match. His fitness and discipline is commendable and we tried very hard to get him out but could not. We are disappointed with this result. We made mistakes in all departments and, as a result, were unable to take wickets in the middle overs.”
