Haridwar: Narayani Shila Temple is Pitru Moksha Teerth, by offering prayers here, ancestors get blessings

Haridwar, 22 September (H.S.). Narayani Shila Temple located in Haridwar, the pilgrimage city of Uttarakhand, is a pilgrimage site for the ancestors to get salvation. There are two more such pilgrimage sites. The second of these is the Brahma Kapali (Brahm Kapal) in Badridham of the state and the third is the pilgrimage site of Gaya in the state of Bihar, where people reach with full devotion to perform peace, salvation, shraddha, tarpan and Narayan Bali for their ancestors.

Every day thousands of people from every corner of the country reach for the peace of their ancestors to perform Shradh, Tarpan and Narayan Bali during Pitru Paksha at Narayani Shila Temple in Haridwar, the main place of liberation of ancestors in the state. Not only this, overseas Indians settled in countries all over the world also come here for the peace and Shraddha of their ancestors.

It is a mythological belief that by offering prayers at the Narayani Shila Temple in Haridwar, the ancestors get salvation and complete peace. Performing Shradh and Tarpan here on Pitru Paksha not only pleases the ancestors but also receives their blessings.

Narayani Shila Temple of Haridwar has a special place after Gaya temple in Bihar for the Shradh Puja performed in Pitru Paksha. After this, there is a law to perform the last Shradh and Tarpan in the Brahma Kapali located in Badrinath, where by donating the Pind, the sin of killing Brahma is also removed. People suffering from Pitra Dosh reach here and do charity and chanting for their ancestors.

It is believed that those who die prematurely and if they repeatedly harass someone by becoming a phantom-spirit, then their descendants perform Narayan Bali here in their name. Along with this, many people also establish a dwelling by taking a place here for the peace of the soul of their ancestors, making a small mound for them, due to which they get freedom from the phantom vagina. There are thousands of small and big house-shaped mounds built around the temple.

Regarding this, Mahant Pandit Manoj Kumar Tripathi of Narayani Shila Mandir tells that according to Skanda Purana, once a demon named Gayasur reached Badridham to meet Lord Narayan, after getting the inspiration of Narad ji, but he found the door of the Dham closed. On this Gayasur started carrying Shri Deity in the form of Kamalasan of Lord Narayan kept there and Gayasur challenged Shri Narayan for war.

On this, Shri Narayan hit with a mace, then Gayasur put forward Kamalasan. Due to this, a part of Kamalasan broke down and fell there, which is today known as Brahma Kapal in Badridham, while its central part broke down at Haridwar and the third part fell in a place called Gaya in Bihar. Due to this these three places are considered very sacred for the ancestors. Shri Narayan had said that whosoever performs tarpan at these three places for the desire of liberation, he will get salvation.

Pt. Tripathi told that although there is a crowd of people every day for performing Shradh, Tarpan and Narayan sacrifice for the ancestors, but there is a special crowd on every new moon and Pitru Paksha. On Pitru Amavasya, there is also a huge crowd of those who perform rituals. The ancestors get salvation only by seeing the rock of Lord Narayan in the temple here.

He told that Pretshila is the same as Narayani Shila. Worshiping here gives salvation to the ancestors who have attained the phantom vagina and get freedom from the phantom vagina. This brings welfare to the people and happiness and peace resides in their homes. He said that apart from this, there are 52 such holy places in other states of the country like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra etc., where Shradh, Tarpan Karma is performed.
