It was, in fact, anticipated 17 years ago, but scientists have found a new type of ice on the alien planet. This particular kind of ice is said to be astonishing. It is been labeled as “Ultra Rare Plastic Ice VII” by scientists.
Generally speaking, a substance resides in its liquid, solid, or gaseous states but scientists have also defined Plama and Bose Einstein Condensate states. There exists a different subclass between any two of the aforementioned states which is termed as a plastic state.
According to this study, water is said to undergo further change in state under extreme conditions unlike the other forms it is subjected to. Unlike normal ice, forming plastic ice VII does require extreme conditions as stated by ‘Nature.’
They have done studies of this nature where scientists, in France, put water through both a temperature of 327 degrees Celsius and a pressure of 60,000 times the standard atmospheric pressure. Scientists were astonished by the behavior of hydrogen under those conditions.
Using quasi-elastic neutron scattering, scientists were able to identify the behavior of plastic ice VII, providing evidence of a 17 year old estimate where they manipulated hydrogen's state of water.
The hypothesis has been made by scientists that ice of this kind most likely do exist on many large solar system bodies. Neptune and Europass are the two potential subjects.
Understanding the processes involved in these bodies can clarify the behavior of this ice. It is hoped that many states of ice can be uncovered.
