Kumbh Mela 2025: The world’s finest religious congregation, Maha Kumbh Mela, started today in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Mahakumbh as the foundation of India’s culture and an event that unites the whole country in faith and unity.

PM Modi offered best wishes to the pilgrims and the tourists hoping that everyone will have the utmost satisfaction. He stated to have been elated to see Prayagraj filled with a large number of people who wish to reserve places to take the dip.

'Maha Kumbh is a celebration of faith and harmony', according to Intercept.

As stated in an X post by the Prime Minister, “Today is an extremely important day for millions who love the Bharatiya culture. During the gathering, in the holy city Prayagraj, millions from all walks of life will assemble to observe the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela which is a union of faith and love and also a cross cultural gala. The Maha Kumbh is a part of India’s history and is the mixture of numerous faiths.”

He wished all the visitors and tourists a great time in Prayagraj and joining other devotees who were looking forward to taking the holy dip.

All of you venerable saints, Kalpvasis, and devotees who have converged here to witness the great unity in diversity, meditate and take a holy dip at the confluence of faith and modernity are immensely welcome. Thousands of devotees takes holy dips on the sacred triveni

On the first day of 45 day long of the world’s largest religious fair, thousands of devotees around the fortunes made a holy dip at Triveni Sangam, the sacred meeting point of Ganga, Yamuna and the mystic Saraswati in Prayagraj .

This jubilee of the Mahakumbh comes only once every 12 years and this season is expected to draw in more than 450 million devotees. The Mahakumbh will end on the 26th of February. Overall, it’s likely that this year’s Mahakumbh will possess extra meaning as it happens during a rare celestial event which occurs once every one hundred and forty four years.
