Maha Kumbh 2025: The mega religious event-Maha Kumbh is just around the corner and the preparations have started in full force. In a bid to protect pilgrims, the authorities stationed a water ambulance on tuesday in Mahakumbh Nagar. Along with other medical gear, this water ambulance from Guzrat was designed to assist pilgrims during the festival.

NDFD is expecting to have the water ambulance available during Maha Kumbh according to DIG Manoj Sharma. He further asserted that the ambulance is useful for emergency treatment while patrolling the area.

What is a water ambulance?  

A water ambulance is classified as a mobile hospital with oxygen chambers, medical kits, oxygen cylinders and any other necessary equipment on board.  

Dr. Sharma adds that the NDRF in Varanasi will receive it, “Once the Tambat takes it back from Ahmedabad, it will drive from there to the ambulance supplied by the Gagrat.”

Traffic Police draws up strategy for out of seven central routes

Devotees visiting during the Maha Kumbh & tourists are ensured smooth travel on the stipulated routes to Prayagraj by the traffic police, by Preparing a robust strategy towards seamless traffic control management for seven major routes within the region.

Traffic police have made preparation towards, the acceptable routes from Jaunpur, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Rewa/Banda, Kanpur, Lucknow and Pratapgarh to the Maha Kumbh Mela and Commissionerate area, the government of UP through a release on Tuesday reported. The estimated number of over forty crores pilgrims also comes with a traffic plan for large and small vehicles along with taking care of pedestrians. Specific area will be made one-way in the fair area, while SSP, Kumbh Mela will on-ground monitor the traffic and will direct diversions where deemed necessary due to large number of devotees.

In terms of estimates, it had been predicted that twenty-one percent of commuters will come from the route Jaunpur and eighteen percent from Rewa/Banda route, while sixteen percent are targeted to arrive via Varanasi route and fourteen to Mirzapur, twelve percent are expected from Kanpur route.

Also as per the report, people from Lucknow and Pratapgarh route are expected to account for ten and nine percent respectively.

It said that these arrangements are aimed at ensuring smooth access for devotees and an uninterrupted spiritual experience throughout the event.
