The Bima Sakhi Scheme, launched by the government last year in collaboration with LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India), aims to empower women by providing them with financial independence. This initiative not only supports women in becoming self-reliant but also creates employment opportunities for those who have passed 10th grade. Under this scheme, women can earn up to ₹7,000 per month while receiving training.
What Is LIC’s Bima Sakhi Scheme?
The Bima Sakhi Scheme is a government-supported initiative designed to train women as LIC agents. The goal is to prepare 2 lakh women across India as Bima Sakhis within three years. Participants will receive a stipend for the first three years during their training period. Upon successful completion, they can begin working as LIC agents, and those who excel will have the opportunity to become Development Officers at LIC.
Guaranteed Monthly Earnings During Training
Women enrolled in the Bima Sakhi Scheme will earn a stipend during their training:
- First Year: ₹7,000 per month
- Second Year: ₹6,000 per month

By the end of three years, a participant can earn over ₹2 lakh in stipends alone. Additionally, they can increase their income through commission-based earnings as LIC agents.
