Kash Patel took office as the FBI director on Saturday under the Trump administration. Accompanied by his girlfriend and family, the Indian-American leader swore an oath with his hand placed on the sacred Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita.

Patel had been appointed the FBI director by the Senate on Friday with a vote of 51 in favor and 49 against. Upon receiving the call, he expressed his gratitude, calling this position the 'greatest honor’ of his life.

In remarks he made after the ceremony in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on the White House campus in D.C., he stated, "I am living the American dream, and anyone who thinks that the American dream is dead, look right here."

Patel proudly claimed, “You are talking to a first-generation Indian who is about to lead the law enforcement agency of the greatest nation on earth.” He has taken immense pride and replaced Christopher Wray as the FBI Chief.

In supporting Kash Patel with his efforts to strengthen accountability within the FBI, President Donald Trump was thanked by Patel for ‘restoring his faith’ in the agency. Patel greatly appreciated Trump’s efforts in restoring public trust in the agency.

After confirming his appointment, Patel stated, ‘My mission as Director is clear: let good cops be cops – and restore trust in the FBI.’

Shortly after the swearing in ceremony, the White House confirmed this on X with the statement, ‘Make America Safe Again.’

The post with the tagline, ‘It’s time we restore integrity and justice at the FBI. Make America Safe Again,’ accompanied a picture of Kash Patel and President Trump.

Trump praised Kash Patel's appoint saying, “One of the reasons I love Kash and wanted to put him in is because of the respect the agents had for him”.

In advance of his swearing in, “I think he'll go down as the best ever at that position,” said the US President.

He was quite simple to get approved for. He seems a tough and strong fellow, he has his opinions. I remember Trey Gowdy made a remarkable statement came out and said that Kash is an incredible person. And people's don't realize it. When he said that there was no doubt left. That's a big statement made by someone of respect who is on the moderate side, Trump stated.
