After successfully chasing down Pakistan’s total of 241 runs with six wickets remaining at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya boasted that the Indians ‘smashed the confidence of the Pakistanis’ in terms of mental gameplay.
These statements came right after former Pakistani captain Ramiz Raja expressed his utter disappointment regarding the performance statistics of his team India in the ongoing Champions Trophy.
Echoing his thoughts on X, Malaviya stated that, "the Pakistanis confidence has been shattered," in regard of how Raja is now progressively shifting towards accepting defeat even before the match concludes, something he would have never imagined prior the recent Indian dominance in the battle of subcontinent matches.
Raja had earlier said, “This is going to be difficult to digest for the Pakistan supporters. With the emotions this match generates, there ought to be an outrage. Yes, the supporters have a grievance, this uninterrupted dominance of India winning has got to end. So one sided for so long, you all know, the minute spearhead is put in the field, it's already done.”
While facing Pakistan in their latest match, India crossed the 220 mark losing very few wickets, where Saud Shakeel scored 62 and Khushdil Shah supported with an additional 38.
India easily completed the target of 242 runs while losing only three wickets with greater than seven overs left. Shreyas Iyer added 56 runs and Shubman Gill added 46 runs, leading to Virat Kohli’s 51st ODI century, which resulted in a commanding victory for India.
India's dominant victory overshadows Pakistan's consecutive defeat and places them firmly at the top of Group A. This also means India has all but secured a position in the semifinals. On the other hand, Pakistan’s consecutive defeat leaves their chances of advancing hanging by a thread, with elimination now a real possibility.
