Mumbai, (IANS) | Bollywood actress Kajol talks about late veteran actress Nutan and how she inspired her in life. She also revealed that the ‘Sujatha’ actress was also an amazing singer and used to play the harmonium at home.
Kajol started her acting career in 1992 with the film ‘Bekhudi’, though she rose to fame with ‘Baazigar’. Later she did films like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Dilwale’ and now the actress will be seen in Revathi’s directorial venture ‘Salaam Venky’.
Talking about Nutan, Kajol said, “When Nutan Maasi was a superstar, I was very young and when I grew up, I saw her as a mother in most of the films. She is very brilliant and talented too. She was a talented singer and used to perform for us on her harmonium.”
The 48-year-old actress appeared in a special episode of ’30 Years of Kajol’ on singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs’ along with her ‘Salaam Venky’ co-star Vishal Jethwa.
Kajol said that she has learned a lot about women empowerment from her mother and aunt.
“I have to say one thing about my mother, maasi and nani, we keep talking about women empowerment and empowering women these days, but the leading women in my life never taught me about it, but their life Has been a living example for me, they did it and showed it to me. I am lucky to have been brought up by these women.”
