The 77th Annual Directors Guild of America (DGA) Awards took place on Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, celebrating the year’s most outstanding achievements in directing. Hosted by renowned filmmaker Judd Apatow, the event honored the best in film, television, and commercial direction.

Payal Kapadia Misses Out on Top Honor

Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia, known for her critically acclaimed film All We Imagine As Light, was nominated in the First-Time Theatrical Feature Film category. However, the award went to RaMell Ross for Nickel Boys, which triumphed in the Michael Apted First-Time Directorial Feature category.

Kapadia competed against Sean Wang (Didi), Megan Park (My Old Ass), and Halfdan Ullmann Tondel (Armand) in the category. Despite not securing the win, her nomination was a significant recognition of her talent on the global stage.
