Why do companies deny insurance claims?

Insurance companies may reject a claim for a number of reasons, including not providing correct information about your health at the time of insuring, mismatch of information in your documents, violation of policy conditions, etc. In such a situation, you should take special care of all these things while taking an insurance policy.

What to do if insurance claim is rejected?

If your claim has been rejected by the insurance company, the first thing you need to do is approach the grievance redressal officer of the insurance company and file a complaint regarding the claim.

Complain to IRDAI

If your problem is not resolved within 15 days of lodging the complaint with the grievance redressal officer of the insurance company, you can lodge a complaint with the insurance regulator IRDAI. Get help from the Insurance Ombudsman

You can complain about non-receipt of insurance claim to the Insurance Ombudsman of your area. You will get information about the Insurance Ombudsman from your insurance company.
