
The auspicious moment of Basant Panchami arrived when numerous devotees assembled at Sangam to perform their last visit of the Mahakumbh Amrit Snan while celebrating Basant Panchami.

During the Amrit Snan on Basant Panchami at Maha Kumbh Mela Naga Sadhus brought a spectacular display as they moved toward Sangam while bearing sacred symbols alongside traditional ornaments to pray in the holy water.

Devotees poured into Prayagraj junction since the city prepared for its forthcoming Amrit Snan which would occur on February 3 along with Basant Panchami celebrations. The holy city witnessed people from various regions of the country and numerous devotees who conducted charitable activities and religious ceremonies. The belief suggests that Maa Saraswati came into existence on Basant Panchami and prayerful baths on this holy day in the Ganga possess special value.
'A vast number exceeding 1.65 million worshippers participated in the sacred ritual on Basant Panchami.'
The total number of devotees who bathed at Triveni Sangam reached above 1.65 million before 4 am on Monday to start the third holy bathing ritual on Basant Panchami according to official reports. Devotees initiated the sacred bathing ritual by observing their/ecstatic ritual-security immersion at the ghats during the current Mahakumbh 2025 celebration in Prayagraj.
Devotees reaching 340 million (34 crore) levels took part in the holy bath since the beginning of Maha Kumbh Mela on January 13 according to Uttar Pradesh Information Department's data from February 3. The identification of Kalpwasis who practice month-long spiritual penances has reached more than 1 million people driving increased holy fervor.
Devotees have praised the Uttar Pradesh government for its comprehensive arrangements in Prayagraj that made the Basant Panchami Amrit Snan event convenient and secure for all faithful participants. All pilgrim needs at the Kumbh Command and Control Centre are managed to create an effortless experience for visitors throughout the event.
All Kumbh Command operations are supervised through the monitoring of 25 sectors together with 30 pontoon bridges as well as sensitive barricades while the city along with Mela area hosts more than 3000 CCTV cameras.
The Mahakumbh 2025 started on January 13 and continues until the last day of February 26. Since its start on January 13 the Kumbh Mela has drawn millions of faithful individuals from around India and the globe and shows potential for exceeding all previous attendance totals.
