As reported by police on Saturday, 20 suspected members of ‘Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’, including a Sikh, were arrested from the Punjab region, Pakistan.
A spokesperson from the Counter Terrorism Department of Punjab Police (CTD) stated that the law enforcement agencies controlled a major terrorist scheme by capturing 20 TTP terrorists in the course of 162 intelligence-based operations in several locations across Punjab during the course of this week.
"Three very high profile default members of TTP — Manmohan Singh, Naqeebullah and Riaz have been apprehended from Rawalpindi and Lahore as well as Rahim Yar Khan," reads the statement.
Six thousand two hundred thirty-eight grams of explosives, twenty-three detonators, safety wires for bombs measuring sixty-one feet, three booby traps, and banned books have been set aside to be used as evidence in court.
They intended to attack key structures in Lahore and other cities. Eighteen files and cases have been opened against the arrested terrorists and is under further investigation,” reads the statement.
