The Congress party has officially clarified its position regarding rumors of a potential alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Ambernath Municipal Council. Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole addressed the circulating reports that suggested local cooperation between the two traditional political rivals. Patole stated that the Congress party has not entered into any formal or informal agreement with the BJP and remains firmly committed to the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition. He emphasized that the party national and state policies are strictly opposed to the ideology of the BJP.
The reports of collaboration at the local municipal level were dismissed as baseless or as unauthorized actions by specific individuals. Patole warned that the party leadership is monitoring the situation closely and any member found working against the official party line or collaborating with the BJP will face strict disciplinary measures. This statement aims to resolve the political confusion surrounding local governance in Ambernath and reaffirms the ideological boundaries of the party. The Congress leadership maintains that their primary goal is to strengthen the MVA alliance and fight the upcoming elections against the BJP.
