In a deeply personal and heartfelt address, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai shared a story of faith, crediting his success to the blessings of two specific dargahs. The remarks were made during the farewell ceremony for Supreme Court Justice Hima Kohli, where CJI Gavai took the opportunity to reflect on his own journey.
The CJI revealed that during a particularly challenging period in his career, he visited two revered shrines. One was the dargah of Hazrat Tajuddin Baba in Nagpur, and the other was the Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai. Speaking with gratitude, he stated, "Whatever I am today, it is because of these two." He explained that following his visits to these dargahs, he received favorable outcomes in his professional life, which solidified his belief in their spiritual significance.
CJI Gavai shared this personal anecdote while bidding farewell to Justice Kohli, highlighting a side of his life rooted in faith and tradition. The revelation offered a rare glimpse into the personal beliefs of the head of the Indian judiciary, underscoring a message of humility and gratitude.
The event was organized by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) to honor Justice Hima Kohli upon her retirement.
