Team India’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane’s bat has become angry with him and this is the reason why the batsman who once scored runs on foreign soil can now be out of the team. Ajinkya Rahane recently went on a tour of England where he proved to be a flop. He could score only one half-century on the whole tour and now his critics are constantly talking about ousting the vice-captain of Team India. However, former opener Virender Sehwag has said to give Rahane another chance. Sehwag told when Rahane should be dropped from Team India?
Virender Sehwag said in a conversation with the Sony Sports channel that Ajinkya Rahane should get a chance in another series. According to Sehwag, many batsmen flop abroad, and the same thing happened with Rahane but he should get a chance in the home Test series against New Zealand. If this batsman flops there too, then he does not get a place in his team.
Sehwag further said, ‘I have seen many great players that they did nothing in 8-9 Test matches. Not even a half-century came off his bat. But if he got a chance, he scored 1200 to 1500 Test runs in a year. Let us tell you that Ajinkya Rahane was the highest run-scorer for India in the last World Test Championship. 1159 runs came from his bat. However, Rahane’s bat has been silent since his century in the Melbourne Test and his batting average is only 19.86.
