Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Actor Vikrant Massey has taken to social media to correct a long-standing piece of misinformation regarding his relationship with Clive Kunder, one of the co-pilots who tragically lost his life in the 2020 Air India Express crash in Kozhikode. Massey clarified that Kunder was a cherished family friend, not his cousin.
The clarification came after a screenshot of Massey's original heartfelt tribute to Kunder from 2020 began circulating again online, leading many to believe the two were related by blood. In response, the actor posted on X (formerly Twitter) to set the record straight for his followers and the public.
"I would like to clarify that he was not my cousin," Massey wrote, directly addressing the rumor. He went on to explain their deep bond, stating, "He was a dear, dear family friend, who was like a brother to me."
The incident in question was the devastating crash of Air India Express flight IX-1344 on August 7, 2020. The flight, part of the "Vande Bharat Mission" to repatriate Indians from Dubai, overshot the tabletop runway at Calicut International Airport during heavy monsoon rains. The aircraft broke apart upon impact, resulting in the deaths of both pilots, Captain Deepak Sathe and First Officer Clive Kunder, along with numerous passengers.
Massey's public correction underscores his respect for his late friend and the importance of accuracy when discussing such a sensitive and tragic event.
