Bajaj had visited a paan shop situated right next to the iconic Kashi Chaat Bhandar. An altercation broke out when a motorcyclist allegedly parked a vehicle directly in the middle of the busy thoroughfare, blocking passage. When Bajaj raised an objection to the haphazard parking, the situation escalated rapidly. It is alleged that Golu alias Kirari, the owner of Kashi Chaat Bhandar, along with his younger brother, confronted Bajaj, subjecting him to verbal abuse, physical assault, and severe threats to his life, while warning him against ever visiting the Godaulia area again.
