Acting on strict directives from senior police authorities to curb regional crime and illegal transport, a police team led by Sultanpur Patti outpost in-charge Surendra Singh Bisht set up a strategic vehicle-checking checkpoint near Chhoi Mod on NH-74.
Acting on a specific tip-off from a confidential informant, the team flagged down a suspicious tourist bus bearing registration number UK12/PB0381. Upon conducting a thorough physical search, officers discovered that the vehicle had been heavily modified: all passenger seating had been systematically ripped out and replaced with dozens of resin-filled canisters concealed beneath black protective foil.
Smuggling Route and Arrests
During the operation, four occupants aboard the vehicle attempted to escape on foot but were swiftly surrounded and detained by the alert police force.
