UP Police Launches Unique Trackside Chaupals in Rae Bareli to Boost Railway Safety and Local Dialogue
In an innovative policing initiative aimed at strengthening grassroots connectivity and enhancing railway infrastructure security, the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and local civil police are joining hands to organize community meetings directly along railway tracks in Rae Bareli. This strategic safety drive will also actively incorporate local community volunteers, known as Police Friends, to bridge the communication gap between law enforcement agencies and residents living in adjacent rural pockets.
Objectives and Core Focus Areas of the Trackside Chaupal
The primary objective of these collaborative public meetings is to generate widespread grassroots awareness concerning railway safety protocols, crime prevention, and the mitigation of accidental mishaps along active train corridors. Under the directives issued by GRP Superintendent of Police Rohit Mishra, field officers and station personnel have been instructed to engage directly with villagers and settlements situated close to railway tracks.
During these interactive sessions, authorities will educate residents on critical safety hazards, including:
The dangers of unauthorized trespassing and walking along railway tracks.
The risks associated with leaving livestock unattended near active train lines.
The importance of immediately reporting suspicious objects, unusual activities, or track tampering to security forces.
Maximizing real-time information sharing and intelligence gathering through local Police Friends networks.
Digital Monitoring and Departmental Accountability
To ensure transparency and effective follow-through, GRP Police Station Head Sachin Kumar confirmed that photographic documentation and attendance records of every organized Chaupal will be uploaded directly to official departmental portals. This digital archiving allows senior district and railway officials to monitor outreach progress seamlessly and evaluate community engagement effectiveness across all targeted sectors in Rae Bareli.
