The 'double-engine' government is translating Prime Minister Modi's resolve for the welfare of the poor into reality; Keshav released the second installment to over 1.16 lakh housing beneficiaries.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya today released funds amounting to ₹816.6690 crore (₹81,666.90 lakh) as the second installment for the construction of houses for a total of 1,16,667 beneficiaries across all 75 districts of the state under the 'Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Gramin'. This amount has been provided to eligible beneficiaries—including those from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and the General category—to facilitate the progress of constructing their permanent houses.
Shri Maurya stated that through the 'Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Gramin', the state government is firmly resolved to ensure that no poor family or mother in the state is compelled to live in a *kutcha* (temporary/mud) house. He remarked that providing permanent and safe housing to poor and needy families in rural areas is not merely a scheme but a significant responsibility linked to a dignified life. With this spirit, the Rural Development Department is continuously monitoring these schemes and ensuring that the benefits of government programs reach the eligible beneficiaries.
Shri Maurya noted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has made the upliftment of the poor and bringing positive change to the lives of marginalized sections a priority for his government. Under the Prime Minister's guidance, the 'double-engine' government of Uttar Pradesh is working continuously for the welfare of villages, the poor, farmers, women, and the youth. A large number of needy families are being provided with permanent shelter through the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin' and the 'Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Gramin'.
