Shravani Mela 2026: Indian Railways Launches Special Trains from Gorakhpur to Asansol and Deoghar

The railway administration has brought major relief for millions of Lord Shiva devotees embarking on the holy pilgrimage to Baba Dham Deoghar during the auspicious month of Sawan. To manage the massive seasonal rush and ensure comfortable travel, authorities have officially launched two dedicated unreserved Shravani Mela special trains originating from Gorakhpur. Operating through key routes in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, these special services will remain operational through August, providing seamless connectivity for pilgrims heading toward Jharkhand.

Gorakhpur-Asansol Special Train Schedule and Route

To accommodate the surging number of Kanwariyas, the unreserved Shravani Mela special train connecting Gorakhpur to Asansol via Jasidih will commence operations starting July 30, running daily until August 30. Train number 03528 will depart from Gorakhpur Junction daily at 4:15 PM, traversing through Deoria, Siwan, Chhapra, Sonpur, Hajipur, and Barauni, before arriving at Jasidih at 4:42 AM and terminating at Asansol at 8:20 AM the following morning. For the return journey, train number 03527 will depart from Asansol at 9:00 PM between July 29 and August 29, passing through Jasidih and reaching Gorakhpur by 11:00 AM the next day.

Barhni-Deoghar Special Train Timings and Key Stoppages

Adding to the transit options, the unreserved fair special train numbered 05028/05027 operating between Barhni and Deoghar via Gorakhpur has already hit the tracks, with large numbers of devotees boarding from Gorakhpur Junction's platform number two. This service departs Barhni daily at 3:20 PM, arriving at Gorakhpur at 5:50 PM before moving via Anandnagar, Kaptanganj, Padrauna, Thawe, Hajipur, Barauni, and Sultanganj to reach Deoghar by 1:00 PM the next day. The return service from Deoghar operates daily until August 30, ensuring round-the-clock convenience for pilgrims fulfilling their spiritual vows.
