Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Ashok Kumar Singh, belonging to the 1995 batch, has been officially promoted to the prestigious rank of Director General (DG). Following formal approval from the state Governor, the Department of Home released the promotion order, marking a significant milestone in the distinguished career of the veteran police officer.

Hailing originally from Itahari in Bhabua district, Bihar, Ashok Kumar Singh's path to the upper echelons of the police force is a remarkable story of dedication and academic excellence. After completing his primary education in his native village up to the fifth grade, he secured admission into the prestigious Sainik School in Tilaiya, Jharkhand, where he completed his intermediate studies. Demonstrating a strong aptitude for sciences, he moved to the national capital to earn a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics from the renowned Ramjas College, Delhi University, before clearing the civil services examination to join the elite police cadre.
