Ahead of the crucial 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, Union Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary's Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has set its sights on securing a massive two-thirds majority for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Positioned as a major electoral force in Western Uttar Pradesh, the RLD is fine-tuning an aggressive grassroots strategy focused on farmers, youth, technology-driven agriculture, and rural infrastructure to ensure the BJP-led alliance clinches a historic third consecutive term under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

RLD Outlines Strategy for Two-Thirds Majority in UP

In an exclusive interview, RLD national spokesperson Nisha Chaudhary emphasized that the party's central mission is to return the NDA to power with an overwhelming mandate:

Focus Across All 403 Seats: Rather than fixing a rigid quota for seat-sharing demands, the RLD is prioritizing organizational strength across all 403 assembly constituencies to uplift the entire coalition's performance.

Respectful Alliance Distribution: She noted that when formal seat-sharing discussions commence, responsibilities will be shared equitably, ensuring every coalition partner receives due respect. In the 2022 assembly elections, the RLD contested 33 seats and won eight.

Carrying Chaudhary Charan Singh's Legacy: The party aims to take former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh's vision of social harmony, farmer empowerment, and inclusive growth directly to the doorstep of every village.

RLD Slams Akhilesh Yadav Over 'Chavanni' Jibe

Nisha Chaudhary strongly countered Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav over his past political jibes against Jayant Chaudhary:

Public Response in 2027: Dismissing personal attacks—including Akhilesh's veiled remark suggesting the SP transformed a chavanni (25 paise) into a rupee—she asserted that the electorate would decisively reject such derogatory rhetoric at the ballot box.

Shared Political Roots: Reminding observers that late SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav learned the nuances of politics from Chaudhary Charan Singh, she emphasized that mutual respect should govern public life rather than divisive insults aimed at cornering community votes.

Agri-Tech, Sugarcane Value Addition, and Sports Infrastructure

Highlighting the economic roadmap for Western UP's agrarian heartland, the RLD spokesperson underscored key policy priorities:

Modernizing the Sugarcane Belt: Stressing that shrinking land holdings demand higher output, RLD is advocating for modern agro-processing units to convert raw sugarcane into high-value organic jaggery, khandsari, and refined sugar, generating rural employment alongside higher farm earnings.

Resolving Cane Dues: Commending the current administration, she pointed out that around 95 percent of sugarcane dues—totaling approximately ₹3.22 lakh crore since 2017—have already been cleared for state growers.

Connecting Youth with Sports and Tech: The party is championing the integration of artificial intelligence, drones, and modern precision farming among rural youth. Furthermore, Jayant Chaudhary has allocated 100 percent of his Rajya Sabha MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds toward upgrading sports complexes and stadiums across UP, Haryana, and other regions under the vision of Khelega India, toh badhega India.
