Rivers Engulf 26 Districts as CM Yogi Adityanath's War-Footing Relief Network Successfully Evacuates 17,544 People With Zero Casualties

Post

Uttar Pradesh is currently confronting a severe flood challenge as rising river levels overflow across 26 districts of the state. However, thanks to the swift, proactive, and war-footing deployment of relief and rescue operations orchestrated under the direct instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state administration has successfully averted any loss of human life or livestock. While approximately 3.53 lakh people have been affected by the surging waters, ground-level intervention has ensured comprehensive protection, safe evacuations, and continuous medical support for vulnerable communities.

Massive Ground Operation: 1,697 Boats and 1,068 Medical Teams Deployed

To combat the escalating crisis across the affected river basins, the Uttar Pradesh Flood Relief Commissioner’s office has mobilized an extensive administrative machinery. Currently, 1,634 dedicated flood posts, 1,697 boats and motorboats, and 1,068 specialized medical teams are operating round-the-clock on the ground.

Strategic evacuation efforts have successfully moved 17,544 individuals out of high-risk zones to safer grounds. A network of 1,312 well-equipped flood shelters has been established statewide, currently providing safe harbor and daily necessities to 4,847 displaced citizens. Medical safety remains a top priority, with authorities distributing over 5.52 lakh chlorine tablets and 1.87 lakh ORS packets to prevent waterborne diseases.

War-Footing Distribution of Relief Kits, Food Packets, and Cattle Feed

The Yogi government's relief campaign has prioritized immediate subsistence and welfare for every affected family. Distribution networks have successfully delivered 72,897 comprehensive flood relief food kits and over 3.67 lakh freshly prepared lunch packets. Recognizing the critical vulnerability of rural livestock, the administration has also supplied over 5,000 quintals of animal feed and straw. Despite more than 45,000 domestic animals being caught in the deluge, prompt administrative action has ensured zero animal casualties alongside zero human fatalities.

26 Districts Under High Alert and Continuous Monitoring

The flood impact is currently concentrated across 26 major districts in the state, including Amroha, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Badaun, Ballia, Barabanki, Basti, Chandauli, Farrukhabad, Ghazipur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Hardoi, Kasganj, Kanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Prayagraj, Rae Bareli, Rampur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shahjahanpur, Unnao, and Varanasi. While water levels in specific regional rivers—such as the Mandakini in Chitrakoot—have begun receding, district administrations remain on high alert, maintaining round-the-clock surveillance to manage rising embankments and deliver uninterrupted aid.
