Railways to Run New Delhi-Prayagraj Special Express for Janmashtami and Long Weekend: Check Timings and Aligarh Stoppage

Aligarh: The upcoming celebrations of Shri Krishna Janmashtami coupled with an extended festive weekend are set to trigger a massive surge in passenger traffic across key northern rail routes. To accommodate the heavy rush of travelers and ensure seamless mobility, Indian Railways has announced the operation of a reserved Superfast Special Express train between New Delhi and Subedarganj (Prayagraj). Operating for three dedicated trips in both directions, the special service will provide much-needed relief to commuters traveling between the national capital and various prominent transit hubs in Uttar Pradesh, including a convenient stoppage at Aligarh Junction.
Train Schedule and Operations Between New Delhi and Subedarganj
Designed to handle holiday congestion efficiently, the special rake comprises a total of 18 coaches equipped to manage high passenger volumes.
Train No. 02416 (New Delhi - Subedarganj Special Express): Scheduled to depart from New Delhi on September 3, 4, and 5 at 11:00 PM, this service will pull into Subedarganj at 09:45 AM the following morning.
Train No. 02415 (Subedarganj - New Delhi Special Express): For the return journey, the train will depart from Subedarganj at 12:10 PM on September 4, 5, and 6, reaching New Delhi at 11:30 PM on the same day.
Key Stoppages and Timing Details Along the Route
To maximize convenience for regional commuters, the Superfast Special Express has been scheduled with strategic halts at major junctions across Uttar Pradesh. During its onward journey from New Delhi, the train will pass through and stop at Ghaziabad, Aligarh Junction (arriving at 01:05 PM), Tundla Junction, Etawah Junction, Govindpuri, and Fatehpur.
On its return leg toward the national capital, the train will maintain scheduled halts at Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Etawah Junction, Tundla Junction, Aligarh Junction (arriving at 08:30 PM), and Ghaziabad. Railway authorities have confirmed that standard two-minute stoppages have been allotted at all intermediate stations except Govindpuri, ensuring smooth transit and schedule adherence for all ticket holders during the festive rush.
