Prayagraj: 10 Major Arterial Roads to Replicate Iconic Airport Road with Ramcharitmanas Chaupais

Post

In an ambitious urban transformation drive, the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation has rolled out an expansive blueprint worth upwards of ₹400 crore to modernize and beautify 10 key transit corridors on the lines of the city's prestigious Airport Road. Covering an aggregate stretch of nearly 30 kilometers—including prominent lifelines like MG Road and MGP Road—the grand project aims far beyond basic pothole repairs to deliver a world-class commuting corridor. Execution will unfold across three systematic phases, equipping these thoroughfares with synchronized intelligent traffic flow systems, newly engineered pedestrian footpaths, reinforced lane dividers, subterranean drainage networks for monsoon flood mitigation, and designated parking facilities positioned every 500 meters along the avenues to keep traffic jams at bay.

Cultural Grandeur Meets Modern Infrastructure: Underground Cabling, 200,000 Saplings, and Sacred Inscriptions

Blending sustainable smart-city engineering with Uttar Pradesh's deep cultural heritage, the corridors will feature complete underground laying of high-tension power and street-lighting cables, clearing the visual skyline of tangled wiring while enhancing safety. Commuters will travel along verdant avenues flanked by more than 200,000 newly planted trees, illuminated by thematic LED fixtures and lined with comfortable polished stone benches for pedestrians. Evoking the spiritual legacy of the Sangam city, sacred verses (chaupais) from the Ramcharitmanas will be aesthetically engraved along arterial roadsides, while major roundabouts and intersections will be adorned with striking sculptural monuments honoring revered deities and legendary freedom fighters, establishing an integrated spiritual, ecological, and urban showpiece across the historic city.
