Mr. Maurya: We will take the skills of the 'Didis' (women self-help group members) from the village doorstep to the global market; the trade show will pave the way for economic self-reliance
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) participating in the International Trade Show in Greater Noida will gain a significant opportunity to market and sell their products. This will enhance prospects for securing better markets for their goods and pave the way for locally produced items to gain national and global recognition. Providing a global platform for the skills of these SHG women will also boost their income and self-reliance. The trade show will also disseminate information regarding various schemes and activities of the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, including SHG formation, 'Take Home Ration,' BC Sakhi, Vidyut Sakhi, and the 'Balini' initiative. The objective is to raise awareness about connecting rural women with livelihood opportunities and providing broader markets for their products. The Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission will participate on a large scale in the UP International Trade Show-2026, scheduled to be held at the India Expo Centre & Mart from September 25 to 29, 2026.
Mr. Maurya noted that this trade show offers a vital opportunity for women associated with SHGs to take their products to a wider market, thereby increasing their sales potential and income. He appealed to the public to visit the trade show, purchase products made by these women, encourage them, and strengthen the 'Vocal for Local' initiative. As in previous years, the Mission is making free arrangements for the accommodation, food, and transportation of the participating women. All necessary preparations for participation in the trade show have been completed by the Mission.
