Mainpuri and Farrukhabad-Sankisa will undergo comprehensive and well-planned development as part of a Buddhist circuit, along the lines of Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura – Keshav Prasad Maurya
Addressing the Abhidhamma Day celebrations held at Jasarajpur-Sankisa, Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that Lord Buddha—who gifted all of humanity the eternal message of compassion, kindness, non-violence, and peace—is revered and honored not only in India but across the entire world. He noted that among the eight major sacred sites in India associated with Lord Buddha, Sankisa holds a unique, historical, and glorious position. Paying his respectful obeisance to this sacred land and its residents, he extended a heartfelt welcome to all the venerable monks (Bhantes), lay devotees (Upasakas), and followers of the Buddha who arrived from across the country and abroad. Addressing the demand for the establishment of a Pali Research Institute and a Vipassana Meditation Center in Sankisa, he emphasized that this is not merely a request from the public, but rather their natural right. He assured that a well-planned and comprehensive action plan for the holistic development of Sankisa would be prepared through the coordinated efforts of both the Mainpuri and Farrukhabad districts. On the auspicious occasion of Abhidhamma Day, he had the privilege of visiting and offering prayers at the sacred Buddhist stupa in the historic Buddhist pilgrimage site of Sankisa, located in the Farrukhabad district. It is his sincere wish that, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Lord Buddha, the spirit of peace, compassion, and mutual respect continues to strengthen within society.
