Keshav Maurya stepped in to arrange shelter for a poor family in Ayodhya
The immediate action taken by Keshav Prasad Maurya regarding the case of Smt. Arpita Pandey from Ayodhya—facilitating the approval of a rural house under the Chief Minister's housing scheme—demonstrates that government schemes are not merely confined to paperwork; rather, the government is working with sensitivity to ensure their benefits reach needy families. Previously, upon learning that the mud house of 70-year-old Smt. Vidhavati in Amethi district had collapsed, Shri Maurya spoke to her over the phone and immediately dispatched officials to provide assistance. Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that the 'double-engine' government is firmly resolved to ensure that no poor family is forced to live in a dilapidated mud house. Continuous efforts are being made to provide permanent housing to eligible poor families through schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) and the Chief Minister's Rural Housing Scheme. The government aims to provide eligible beneficiaries not only with housing but also with toilets and other essential amenities, in accordance with scheme guidelines. Shri Maurya emphasized that the government is constantly working towards the upliftment of the poor and the improvement of their living standards, ensuring that the actual benefits of public welfare schemes reach the person standing at the very last rung of the social ladder. A close watch is being kept on public grievances and the circumstances of needy families in every district; effective action will be ensured to provide all possible assistance, in accordance with the rules, whenever the plight of an eligible, distressed family comes to light.
