Overcoming extreme adversity that saw him labor as a mason and peel sugarcane just to fund his education, Yashpal has officially achieved his ultimate dream by securing the prestigious position of scientist at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). His incredible journey from a humble village laborer to a top-tier government scientist has captured hearts and set a powerful benchmark for youth across Uttar Pradesh.
Battling Extreme Poverty and Financial Struggles to Pursue Education
Residing in Chaupura village, Yashpal comes from a family of modest means, facing continuous financial strain under the care of his late father Parmal Singh Kori, a daily wage laborer who passed away earlier this year, and homemaker mother Shimla Devi. Determined to break the cycle of poverty through education, Yashpal balanced backbreaking manual labor with his studies. After completing high school at Janta Inter College, Bilaspur, he earned a Polytechnic diploma from Haryana and subsequently pursued a B.Tech degree from Stallion College, Chhutmalpur. To pay his tuition fees and manage household expenses, he worked tirelessly alongside masons and peeled sugarcane, never letting unfavorable circumstances dilute his academic focus.
Steadfast Climb From Technical Assistant to Bureau of Indian Standards Scientist
Yashpal's first major breakthrough arrived in 2015 when his technical proficiency earned him selection as a Technical Assistant in the Bureau of Indian Standards based on his diploma credentials. Refusing to settle or let go of his higher ambitions, he maintained a relentless work ethic while balancing official duties and advanced preparation. His perseverance culminated in a stellar triumph in 2026, when he secured the first position in the scientist examination by scoring an impressive 82.75 marks, officially earning the title of scientist.
The news of his appointment brought overwhelming joy to his mother Shimla, wife Meenu Kori, elder brother Shripal Kori, and sisters, alongside the entire Chaupura village. Celebrating the momentous milestone, Uttar Pradesh Kori Mahasabha State President Rudrapal Kori visited Yashpal's residence to present a bouquet and sweets, joined by local leaders and residents who hailed him as a glowing inspiration for students who struggle against financial constraints.
