Commuters traveling across the National Capital Region no longer need to look toward metropolitan hubs like Mumbai or London for a scenic double-decker ride, as the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has officially inaugurated an all-electric, air-conditioned double-decker bus service connecting Meerut and Noida. Operated directly out of Noida’s City Center Morna Bus Electric Depot, two brand-new electric double-deckers have commenced operational trials to evaluate route performance and battery discharge rates before scaling up regular trip frequencies. Outfitted with 65 comfortable upper and lower-deck passenger seats, the modern zero-emission transit coaches are equipped with dedicated individual mobile charging ports at every seat, offering daily office commuters and intercity travelers an eco-friendly, premium travel alternative.

Detailing the route blueprint and travel logistics, senior station in-charge Rajesh Kumar Tyagi revealed that the maiden morning service departs City Center Morna Depot in Noida at 6:00 AM, zipping across the Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) while connecting Ghaziabad corridors including Siddharth Vihar, Duhai, and Modinagar. Entering Meerut district, the electric bus navigates key stops at Partapur, Rithani, Bhainsali Bus Stand opposite Shopprix Mall, and Begum Pul before concluding its 78-kilometer journey at Modipuram. The full end-to-end journey from Noida City Center to Modipuram has been fixed at an affordable fare of just ₹124, while a second designated double-decker operates specialized shuttle runs linking Noida to Modinagar, drawing enthusiastic crowds and strong commuter interest as reported by Bhainsali Depot in-charge Rukmesh.
