Dimple Yadav Announces ₹40,000 Annual Financial Aid for UP Women Ahead of 2027 Elections
With the political momentum steadily building toward the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) has rolled out a major welfare pledge aimed at empowering female voters. Following party president Akhilesh Yadav’s earlier declarations, Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav formally announced a comprehensive financial assistance scheme for women during a special party event held at the state headquarters in Lucknow.
Expanding the PDA Formula to Include Women
Addressing a gathering dedicated to women at the party office, MP Dimple Yadav emphasized the crucial electoral role of female voters, whom she described as forming the bedrock of society. Highlighting the party's core social coalition strategy, she announced a newly expanded definition for the 'A' in the SP's signature PDA (Pichhde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) formula, integrating women as a primary pillar of political empowerment and governance priorities.
The 'Stree Samman Samriddhi Yojana': ₹40,000 Annual Aid
Reiterating the party's electoral roadmap for 2027, Dimple Yadav stated that a newly formed Samajwadi Party government will launch the 'Stree Samman Samriddhi Yojana'. Under this ambitious scheme, women across Uttar Pradesh will receive ₹40,000 annually in financial support, with provisions for incremental increases over time. The initiative is designed to provide economic independence and social security to households across the state.
Key Cultural and Public Announcements
In addition to financial promises, the leadership outlined cultural and commemorative commitments ahead of the legislative polls:
Public Holiday: The party announced that August 16th will be officially declared a state public holiday in Uttar Pradesh to mark the birth anniversary of the courageous freedom fighter Queen Rani Avantibai Lodhi.
Memorial Installation: Plans were also unveiled to install a commemorative statue of Rani Avantibai Lodhi along Lucknow's prominent Gomti Riverfront to honor her historical legacy.
