The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up to deliver massive relief to farmers, infrastructure developers, and marginalized communities through a series of key policy clearances. Ahead of presenting the state's much-anticipated supplementary budget in the legislature, the state cabinet is scheduled to convene for a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence on 5 Kalidas Marg. With over 20 critical proposals lined up for clearance, the cabinet meeting promises to fast-track several transformative socio-economic and infrastructural projects across the state.
Crop Insurance And Major Relief For Farmers
A primary highlight of today's cabinet agenda is the formal approval of crucial agricultural safeguards designed to protect the state's farming community from weather-induced uncertainties. The government is set to greenlight the implementation of the Prime Minister's Agricultural Insurance Scheme alongside the Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme in accordance with central guidelines. These initiatives aim to provide robust financial cushioning, ensuring that farmers receive timely compensation for crop losses driven by erratic weather patterns and unseasonal rains.
Infrastructure Push: Jewar-Ganga Link Expressway And Regional Authorities
Infrastructural development takes center stage with a major proposal concerning connectivity to be placed before the cabinet. Officials will review the cost estimate and land allotment for the ambitious six-lane, 74.67-kilometer-long access-controlled expressway connecting the Jewar Link Expressway to the Ganga Expressway via Bulandshahr. Additionally, the cabinet is expected to approve the establishment of the Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Regional Development Authority and clear land transfers for building seven multi-purpose administrative and public utility hubs across the state.
Welfare Boards, Startup Policies, And Madrasa Act Amendments
The cabinet agenda also focuses heavily on inclusive social welfare and economic modernization. A key proposal to establish the Uttar Pradesh Nomadic Development Board will be tabled to drive the social and economic upliftment of nomadic communities. For the technology and entrepreneurial sector, the IT and Electronics Department will present proposals to create a specialized "U-Hub" for startups. Furthermore, amendments to the Madrasa Education Council Act, 2004, will be reviewed following legal frameworks, alongside updates to the Vishwakarma Shramik Samman Yojana 2.0 and administrative regulations from the Finance, Labor, and Mineral departments.
