CM Yogi's Textile Park Project in Sant Kabir Nagar Gains Momentum, Opening Doors to Thousands of Jobs

Following a strategic announcement by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his visit to the Kanshi Ram Sports Stadium on August 11, 2026—where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 201 development projects worth ₹684 crore—work on the proposed textile park at the site of the closed Sant Kabir Spinning Mills Limited in Maghar has gained rapid momentum. The ambitious initiative aims to transform the region's industrial landscape by replacing a defunct facility with a thriving economic hub. Once fully operational, the modern textile park is projected to generate direct employment for more than 5,000 local youth and workers, reviving the historical prominence of the textile sector, which once stood as the district's largest employment generator after agriculture.

Comprehensive Infrastructure, Power Substation Planning, and Investor Applications Underway

To ensure seamless operations, infrastructural development is proceeding at a fast pace, highlighted by recent inspections by Transmission SDO Manoj Kumar alongside XEN Rajesh Kumar and officials from the Handloom and Textiles Department to assess energy requirements and set up a dedicated power substation for uninterrupted electricity. The facility will house integrated units covering cotton-to-yarn spinning, fabric manufacturing, sizing, dyeing, finishing, printing, and readymade garment production. With investor application processes currently underway for government-level selection, the transformation promises to re-establish regional supply chains that historically served weavers and markets across Gorakhpur, Basti, Kanpur, Lucknow, and beyond.
