Commemorating the timeless valor and supreme sacrifices of India's freedom fighters, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid glowing tributes to the legendary freedom fighter Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi on her 196th birth anniversary. Gathering to honor the iconic heroine of the 1857 First War of Independence, CM Yogi remarked that Rani Avanti Bai's profound penance, patriotism, and self-sacrifice continue to serve as an enduring source of inspiration for the nation's youth. Noting that she was merely 27 years old when she led the valiant armed resistance against British colonial rule, the Chief Minister emphasized that every Indian remains forever indebted to her unparalleled contribution to the motherland.

Establishing New Women PAC Battalions Named After National Heroines

Highlighting the state government's commitment to preserving and promoting historical legacy, CM Yogi announced that the ideals of brave historical women are being institutionalized through administrative and security initiatives across Uttar Pradesh. The state government has actively established three new women Provisional Armed Constabulary (PAC) battalions, naming them after iconic female freedom fighters. Specifically, the new PAC battalion in Badaun has been proudly named after Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi, with its infrastructure nearly complete and an impressive equestrian statue nearing its final installation stages. Similar progress is underway at a war footing in Lucknow for the battalion named after Uda Devi Pasi and in Gorakhpur for the battalion dedicated to Rani Jhalkari Bai Kori.

Transforming Women's Safety, Empowerment, and Police Representation in UP

Addressing the broader vision of women's safety and empowerment, CM Yogi reflected on how the state has transformed over recent years. He noted that while questions previously surrounded the safety of daughters and women in Uttar Pradesh, the double-engine government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has successfully dismantled those concerns, ensuring that women work with dignity and security across every sector of society. Underscoring tangible progress in law enforcement, the Chief Minister pointed out that the representation of women in the Uttar Pradesh Police Force has skyrocketed from just 10,000 personnel in 2017 to over 45,000 today, propelled by a mandatory 20 percent recruitment quota designed to foster a self-reliant and secure nation.
