CM Yogi Demands Accountability for Public Servants and Strict Penalties for False Complaints

Addressing the 50th foundation day celebrations of the Lokayukta organization at the Gomtinagar office in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a strong message regarding administrative transparency, emphasizing that holding public servants strictly accountable for misconduct is vital for upholding public trust in democratic institutions. Citing the classic philosophical line "Prabhuta Pai Jahi Mad Nahin," the Chief Minister highlighted that effective oversight remains essential to curb unchecked authority and maintain institutional decorum. Noting the organization's historic milestone—having handled 1,25,056 cases since its inception on September 14, 1977, with 20,553 cases resolved over the last nine years alone—he praised the institution's ongoing efforts to deliver justice and financial relief to citizens.
Technology Integration, PDS Reforms, and Crackdown on Malicious Complaints
To further streamline governance, CM Yogi called for resolving complaints strictly on facts and merits while cracking down heavily on individuals who abuse the system by filing malicious or false complaints. Pointing to successful technological interventions, he noted that integrating e-POS machines with fair price shops has reduced Public Distribution System (PDS) grievances to near-zero, ensuring transparent ration distribution to 160 million beneficiaries across the state. Lokayukta Justice Sanjay Mishra echoed these sentiments, defining corruption as a threat to national character. As the state government continues leveraging AI, data analytics, and e-governance to drive administrative reforms, the event also featured the release of the Lokayukta’s commemorative souvenir and information booklet.
