CM Yogi Adityanath Visits Medanta Hospital: Prays for Speedy Recovery of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow on Friday to personally oversee the health condition of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust President, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das. The revered saint, a central figure in the Ram Temple movement, has been under intensive care for several days, drawing significant concern from both the religious community and political circles. Chief Minister Adityanath held a detailed briefing with the medical team to discuss the Mahant’s current status and conveyed his earnest wishes for a swift and complete recovery, invoking the blessings of Lord Shri Ram.
Medical Status and ICU Care
Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was rushed to Medanta Hospital on June 29 after being found unconscious. Upon admission, clinical assessments confirmed that the Mahant was suffering from breathing difficulties compounded by a urinary tract infection (UTI). He has since been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he remains under the vigilant supervision of a dedicated team of critical care specialists led by Dr. Dilip. Hospital authorities are providing round-the-clock monitoring to ensure his stabilization. This is not the first time the Mahant has faced health challenges; he was previously hospitalized in January of this year, at which time CM Yogi also visited him to ensure he received the highest quality of care.
A Legacy Rooted in the Ram Janmabhoomi Movement
Beyond his religious stature, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das is an iconic figure in the history of the Ram Temple movement. Arriving in Ayodhya from Mathura at the tender age of 12, he became a disciple of Mahant Ram Manohar Das and later earned a Shastri degree from Varanasi. His dedication to the Ram Janmabhoomi cause has been lifelong, serving as the Vice President of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagna Samiti in 1986. His leadership was pivotal in navigating the decades-long legal and social struggle that culminated in the temple's construction, and he has been a constant presence during major milestones like the 'Bhoomi Pujan' and the 'Pran Pratishtha' of Ram Lalla.
Continuity of Care and Public Concern
The health of the Mahant remains a top priority for the Uttar Pradesh government, given his immense contribution to the cultural and spiritual fabric of the nation. As he continues his treatment in the ICU, the medical team is hopeful for his recovery based on the ongoing response to the care provided. Devotees and well-wishers across the country continue to offer prayers for the well-being of the veteran saint, whose life and work remain deeply intertwined with the historic journey of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
