Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to lead a magnificent and inspiring Tiranga Yatra on the streets of Gorakhpur, holding the tricolor aloft to spread the patriotic message of "Har Ghar Tiranga." Commemorating Partition Horrors Remembrance Day and the nation's upcoming 80th Independence Day celebrations, the Chief Minister will personally walk a distance of approximately 2.5 kilometers. Connecting historical landmarks across the city, the march aims to invoke national pride and encourage every citizen to hoist the national flag at their homes, setting a vibrant tone for nationwide celebrations.

Route Map and Preparations: From Rani Lakshmibai to Maharana Pratap Statue

The grand patriotic march will commence at 9:00 AM on Monday, starting with CM Yogi garlanding the statue of the heroic Rani Lakshmibai within the Municipal Corporation premises. Following an inspiring address by the Chief Minister, the yatra will traverse through key city arteries before concluding at the statue of the legendary Maharana Pratap near the Railway Station intersection. Ahead of the high-profile event, the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation undertook extensive beautification drives, sprucing up major crossings, painting roadside railings, and thoroughly cleaning the entire 2.5 km pathway to ensure a pristine environment for the participants.

Heavy Security and Drone Surveillance: Over 400 Police Personnel Deployed

Given the massive public participation expected for the Chief Minister-led march, local law enforcement has enforced foolproof security arrangements. More than 400 police officers, including senior personnel, have been deployed along the entire route. To ensure absolute safety, the procession path will be under continuous surveillance via high-definition CCTV cameras and aerial drones. Furthermore, police personnel have been strategically stationed across building rooftops, shops, and houses overlooking the street to maintain strict vigilance throughout the event.

Cultural Extravaganza: Folk Performances and Welcome Stages at 16 Locations

The Tiranga Yatra will witness a vibrant showcase of art and culture, featuring eight specialized troupes from the State Culture Department. Comprising around 120 artists in colorful traditional attire, these groups will perform folk dances and patriotic numbers across specially designated cultural platforms erected from Town Hall to Railway Road. Trade bodies, voluntary organizations, and local citizens have also set up welcome stages at 16 points along the route. BJP Metropolitan President Ramesh Pratap Gupta coordinated separate meetings to organize these grand receptions, while the Purvanchal Industry Trade Board, Chamber of Commerce, and the BJP Legal Cell have made fervent appeals to traders, advocates, and the general public to turn out in large numbers and make the yatra a historic success.

Traffic Diversions Issued for Gorakhpur Residents

In view of the massive crowds and VIP movement, the Gorakhpur traffic police have implemented temporary route diversions to prevent congestion. Vehicular entry will be strictly restricted around sensitive zones, including Town Hall, the Courthouse area, and Ganesh Chowk. SP Traffic Amit Srivastava has formally urged commuters and motorists to avoid non-essential travel along the yatra route and utilize designated alternative roads to ensure smooth transit throughout the morning hours.
