Post

In a major crackdown on cyber crime and medical fraud, the Bareilly Police have successfully busted a sophisticated online racket operating a fraudulent ring that duped unsuspecting patients by falsely claiming to cure diabetes within just three days. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement authorities raided a house near the Yaadgar restaurant in Sailani on Sunday, leading to the immediate arrest of three key accused individuals identified as Sajid Malik, Islam, and Mohammad Zafar. Initial investigations reveal that the mastermind, Sajid Malik—a resident of Bhojipura—alongside his associates engineered a widespread network targeting individuals suffering from diabetes, exploiting the widespread prevalence of the chronic condition for illicit financial gain.

Fake Call Centers and Counterfeit Packaging Exposed

The gang's operations were meticulously structured to project an aura of legitimate pharmaceutical commerce. To deceive buyers, the accused established a deceptive website and set up a fake call center, deliberately misleading victims into believing that the medicines originated from established pharmaceutical units based in Uttarakhand. Police recovered a massive haul of 75 cartons stuffed with uncertified medicines lacking any manufacturing year, batch numbers, or quality-testing certifications. To further mask their illicit operation, the syndicate purchased generic herbs and pills from various local shops, repackaged them under fake brand names such as RK Enterprises, Diabo-Vita Care, Ayur Life, and Hamdam Forever India, and priced the fraudulent kits between 1,000 and 1,450 rupees to ensure high volume sales.

Manhunt Underway for Remaining Accomplices as Police File FIR

According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ashutosh Shivam, a formal First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against all five members of the criminal syndicate. While Sajid, Islam, and Zafar are currently in police custody undergoing rigorous interrogation regarding the exact chemical composition and hazardous potential of the fake pills distributed, a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the remaining two absconding members, Rauf and Rizwan Mian. Police inquiries revealed that Rauf, who is Sajid's real brother alongside Rizwan, managed the manufacturing and packaging operations, while Islam handled online promotions and digital outreach. Authorities are continuing forensic examinations of the recovered stock to trace the full extent of the victims affected by the scam.
