Ayodhya Ram Mandir Security Breach: Two Youths Sneak Into Restricted Kuber Tila Area Amid High Alert in UP
Uttar Pradesh has been placed on high alert following severe terror threats and intelligence inputs, but security protocols faced an embarrassing lapse in Ayodhya when two young men managed to enter the highly sensitive and restricted Kuber Tila area inside the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex. The security breach caused panic among law enforcement agencies, prompting immediate detention and rigorous joint interrogation by intelligence and local police forces.
How the Security Breach Occurred at Gate Number Two
According to official reports, the incident took place on Sunday morning around 10:45 AM. Two individuals carrying bags slipped past security checkpoints by mingling with laborers entering through gate number two, which is exclusively designated for construction workers. Although preliminary security screening was conducted at the outer barrier, a critical oversight occurred as their identity cards and employment credentials were not thoroughly verified. Taking advantage of the lapse, the duo walked past checkpoints and eventually wandered into the sprawling grounds of Kuber Tila, a heavily guarded and restricted zone within the temple complex.
Swift Action by Security Personnel and CCTV Monitoring
The breach was detected when on-duty security personnel noticed two unauthorized individuals moving suspiciously on the live Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) feeds. An immediate high-level alert was sounded across the complex. Within minutes of the alert, security forces cordoned off the area and took both youths into custody. They were immediately escorted to the Ram Janmabhoomi police outpost for intensive questioning. Authorities confirmed that their names are Anuj (28) and Ajay (32), both residents of the Sikraura police station jurisdiction in Jaunpur district. Although physical searches of their bags yielded no explosive or suspicious items, investigators from their home district were immediately mobilized to verify their background and potential motives.
High Alert Across Uttar Pradesh Over Terror Plots
This major security scare in Ayodhya comes against the backdrop of an existing state-wide high alert issued across Uttar Pradesh. Intelligence agencies have warned of potential terror plots targeting high-security installations, major religious sites, and Kanwar Yatra routes, allegedly orchestrated by Pakistani gangster Shahzad Bhatti at the behest of the ISI. Following recent terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir and suspected radical modules operating in districts like Bijnor, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a high-level security review meeting with DGP Rajiv Krishna and ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash. Authorities have directed the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and local police forces to maintain round-the-clock vigilance, ensuring foolproof security across Lucknow, Meerut, Ayodhya, and other sensitive regions.
