A high-level meeting of the Rural Development Department was convened under the chairmanship of Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya. The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Rural Development, Smt. Vijay Lakshmi Gautam; Principal Secretary (Rural Development), Shri Saurabh Babu; Commissioner and Secretary, Shri Pramod Kumar Upadhyay; the Mission Director; senior officials from technical companies; senior executives from public and private sector banks (including the State Bank of India); and other concerned officials. A significant initiative was also taken during the meeting to extend the ‘Community Partnership’ between the HCL Foundation and the Government of Uttar Pradesh for a period of five years—up to 2031—to accelerate and expand rural transformation; this is expected to further boost efforts related to women's empowerment, livelihood enhancement, digital inclusion, and community development in rural areas. Shri Maurya stated that the government is forging strong partnerships among banks, technical institutions, the private sector, and self-help groups to take the Prime Minister's 'Lakhpati Didi' initiative to every household in Uttar Pradesh. In the near future, women from the villages will establish themselves as entrepreneurs, producers, and service providers, serving as a robust foundation for the rural economy. Women belonging to self-help groups are playing a pivotal role in strengthening the rural economy of Uttar Pradesh. The government aims to empower rural women to not only improve their families' financial standing through their skills and hard work but also to boost the economy of their villages.
