Estimated at a total cost of ₹73 crore 93 lakh 40 thousand—rounding up to approximately ₹75 crore—the comprehensive development initiative spans a combined length of 29.17 kilometers. The vital infrastructure upgrade proposals were presented before the departmental Expenditure Finance Committee during a high-level meeting chaired by the Principal Secretary of the Public Works Department on September 10, successfully clearing all administrative and financial scrutiny phases to move toward formal government-level execution.

Detailed Breakdown of the Four Major Road Projects Across Basti Division

Covering key arterial stretches across the Basti division, the modernization project is systematically divided to maximize regional connectivity. An allocation of ₹23.513 crore has been earmarked for widening and strengthening the 12.125-kilometer Panchmohani-Khoria-Beva road, while ₹15.217 crore is proposed for the 4.800-kilometer Kathela-Badhaya-Janihwa Bahadurpur route. Furthermore, an estimated ₹24.9005 crore will be utilized for the 9.500-kilometer Bhadaria-Badhni Chafa road, alongside ₹10.2297 crore designated for the remaining 2.750-kilometer stretch leading up to the Shohratgarh-Nepal Border near the revered Shohratnath Temple.

The monumental connectivity project is projected to directly uplift approximately 300 villages throughout the district, easing daily commutes, boosting local commerce, and streamlining cross-border travel towards Nepal. Highlighting the critical role of robust infrastructure in grassroots empowerment, Member of Parliament Jagadambika Pal noted that improved arterial road networks serve as a fundamental catalyst for socio-economic development in Siddharthnagar. With the financial and committee procedures successfully wrapped up, government authorities are rapidly finalizing tendering and ground-level execution preparations to ensure the project is delivered on schedule.
